What process convert mass into energy?
I want to convert mass (i.e. weight or pressure) into some other form of energy ( may be electrical energy or some other form of energy). so i want to know how can i do this? and also is there in particular device for this conversion?
my requirement is like this...when i put my legs on floor which standing or walking, at that time the weight of my body will be active force on the floor. so i want to convert this force into some form of energy...
A nuclear (fission) reaction is probably the easiest way to convert mass into energy in sizable quantities (not that it's easy to do though).
Radioactive decay of materials also works, and at least for small scale generation of energy, it's easier to do.
EDIT: Oh sorry, I misread your question.
It would be fairly hard to get a lot of energy out of weight like that. The reason being that the energy you get would be force times the distance traveled (the distance that you 'sink' into the ground as you stand on it). The force exerted would just be Your Own weight, but chances are you won't be falling very far into the ground as you walk; combined with the inefficiency of the system, you'd probably be looking at getting milli-joules per step.
If you wanted the ground to remain firm, then you could try out piezoelectric crystals. When they are flexed, they create a voltage, and so you can get a small amount of electric energy out of them by stepping on them.
The other (not so ideal) option would be to make the ground very elastic (like a trampoline), and have some arrangement of springs and pistons under the ground. By standing on the ground, the floor would flex quite a bit, and it could be connected to a piston which would be used to rotate a generator for example. The springs would then just return the floor to the proper height after you step off of the floor (and also pull the piston back up to rotate the generator some more).
Neither option is very efficient or practical though.
