Natural Rosemary

is it true that natural preservatives have almost no effect?
I'm in the process of starting a web-based spa site that deals in natural products. I just read on a site that natural preservers like rosemary, oregano, and thyme oils have almost no real uses. Is this true? Every credible herbal site I know of gives a lot of info about how good All Natural things are. Is this site bogus or not?
There are a few issues to address with this. First of all, just because it's natural doesn't automatically mean it's safe... Cyanide is natural, too.
That being said, those herbs are generally safe for most people, but some people are allergic (very few, but still) and there are some medications that may have adverse reactions with those herbs if they are taken internally. If the herbs aren't taken internally, there will be less of an issue, but you may want to consider talking to a pharmacist or doctor that is knowledgeable about herbs and see if there are drugs that would have adverse reactions to the application of these herbs (eg. topical creams/oils or something swallowed) so you can make a more informed decision and/or make some way to alert clients if they are taking those drugs.
Most beneficial herbs like that are perfectly safe, but you'll want to let your patrons know what herbs are in the products, just in case they are allergic if nothing else. Good luck and I hope I helped!
